I lived in San Francisco for 2 years after following my husband there for work. It was hard in the beginning, not being able to work, no friends, strange city (I’m sorry, but it felt like that at first, after a couple of months I loved it and never wanted to leave). My work at the Clinic helped me understand the culture I lived in, gave me people to talk to and offered me the opportunity to try something completely different in my career (actually not work for money, but just to feel good about work). Loved working there, loved the people I worked with (they were so welcoming to the ‘foreign’ girl, even though no one could pronounce my name) and I learned a lot.
