<p class="p2"><strong>Schedule:</strong> Temporary. Start date June 15th, 2012 (some flexibility around start date, to be negotiated with supervisor). Minimum duration until September 15th; preference given to candidates available to work through October 31st, 2012. Up to 40 hours per week, including evenings and 1-2 Saturdays per month. Position may become a job share between 2 interns, with each intern working approximately 20 hours per week.</p>
<p class="p2"><strong>Intern Responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<p class="p2">Office Coordination Training:</p>
<ul class="ul1">
<li class="li1">Hone skills in patient contact and coordination (scheduling appts etc.)</li>
<li class="li1">Learn to how to answer health related questions for clients and how to guide others in doing so<span class="s1">

<p>Medical Assistant training/supervision:</p>

<li class="li1">Learn health education skills and techniques</li>
<li class="li1">Learn how to training health educators &amp; how to provide constructive feedback</li>
<li class="li1">Educate patients on health issues</li>
<li class="li1">Advanced training as Pregnancy and or Colpo health educator</li>
<li class="li1">Advanced training running/coordinating in house labs, and conducting rapid HIV testing</li>
<li class="li1">Learn how to supervise clinic flow</li>

<p>Women&#8217;s Community Clinic recently expanded into a new facility and is  expanding its services to the community, which makes this is an  incredibly exciting time to join the Clinic&#8217;s Development Department.  The Clinic uses diverse funding strategies that incorporate  collaboration with clients, volunteers, staff, and community members.  The Grants Manager will play a vital role in fundraising to support our  core services and programs. The Grants Manager is responsible for  managing the Clinic&#8217;s grants program, grant writing and grant  reporting.  The Grants Manager will have the opportunity to increase  their understanding of non-profit fundraising operations and strategies  and will gain experience in grant writing and grants management.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Job Responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Grant Writing &amp; Management</span></p>
<ul type="disc">
<li>Collaborate with program      directors to create compelling grant proposals and funding requests;</li>
<li>Track all upcoming      proposal application and reporting  deadlines, and interact with relevant      program staff to ensure  timely report submissions;</li>
<li>Coordinate with relevant      staff in order to solicit timely and appropriate input on grant proposals;</li>
<li>Review guidelines for all      foundation proposals and reports to  make sure all submissions are      accurately formatted and include all  required information, including budgets      and materials;</li>
<li>Submit all applications      or direct appropriate staff  to      submit, providing all required materials;</li>
<li>In conjunction with      Development Associate, ensure that grants and foundations database is      up-to-date and accurate;</li>
<li>Maintain electronic and      hardcopy records of all foundation  interactions e.g. grant agreements,      report requirements or  documentation of calls and meetings;</li>
<li>Process grant agreements and      acknowledge all gifts from foundations on a timely basis;</li>
<li>Conduct targeted research      to identify new institutional funders  and help to develop strategies for      cultivation and solicitation;</li>
<li>Perform other duties as      assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul type="disc">
<li>Minimum two years      professional experience in nonprofit development field highly preferred</li>
<li>Experience with proposal      writing and grants management</li>
<li>Demonstrated success in securing      institutional gifts</li>
<li>Ability to work      independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal,      communication, and organizational skills</li>
<li>Strong computer skills      (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability  to perform mail merges,      independently compose donor letters and  email communications</li>
<li>Experience with prospect      research for private and institutional giving</li>
<li>Strong proofreading      skills and good attention to detail</li>
<li>Experience with basic      project management and workflow re-design</li>
<li>Database experience,      preferably Salesforce CRM</li>
<li>Position involves      lifting, carrying, and walking up stair<strong>s</strong></li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>The Staff Clinician at Women&#8217;s Community Clinic provides well-woman care and routine gynecologic and family planning services in a nurse managed community health center for a broad range of women of different ages, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. The clinician also precepts advanced practice nursing students and provides clinical and administrative support to volunteer clinicians in collaboration with the staff clinician team.</p>
<p>This position is open to providers with the qualifications noted below with a preference for a lead clinician who can serve as the point person for communication and decision making for the staff clinician team.</p>
<p><strong>Job Responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Clinical</strong></p>
<ul type="disc">
<li>Take medical, gynecologic, and contraceptive histories</li>
<li>Perform routine physical and gynecologic exams</li>
<li>Perform appropriate medical screening procedures</li>
<li>Manage frequently occurring mild, acute or chronic      uncomplicated gynecologic illnesses</li>
<li>Manage and follow-up on abnormal lab and exam findings</li>
<li>Make referrals to other medical specialties where      appropriate</li>
<li>Initiate and manage the use of most approved methods of      contraception</li>
<li>Manage menopausal and peri menopausal clients and      associated health concerns</li>
<li>Identify psychosocial factors affecting health      decisions and practices, and provide unbiased patient education and      counseling</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate medical records and documentation</li>
<li>Furnish and/or dispense drugs and devices in accordance      with AB4372 and standardized protocols</li>
<li>As skills allow, perform gynecological procedures such      as vulvar biopsy, endometrial biopsy, IUD insertion and colposcopy</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Supervisory/Educational</strong></p>

<li>Provide orientation, training and ongoing support to      volunteer clinicians and staff</li>
<li>Coordinate and provide annual and probationary reviews      of volunteer clinicians</li>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>

<li>Current California NP or CNM license with current      furnishing license</li>
<li>At least 1 year clinical experience as an NP/CNM in a      women&#8217;s healthcare setting</li>
<li>Experience working in community-based settings</li>
<li>Desire to work in a culturally sensitive and client      centered setting</li>
<li>Strong computer skills. Experience working with Health      Information Technology, such as EMR/EHR or patient registry</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>

<li>Experience precepting or training students</li>
