Women’s Community Clinic:

Since 1999, the Womens Community Clinic has used a volunteer-based model of care to create a safe, welcoming environment where Bay Area women can access health services. We honor our mission to improve the health and well-being of women and girls by providing free: sexual and reproductive health services, outreach services, and health career training programs.

Womens Community Clinical Program:

The Clinical Program is comprised of the Medical Directors, Clinic Manager, Clinic Director, Staff Clinicians, AmeriCorps members, WAHT Program Fellows, interns, and over 100 Health Worker and Clinician volunteers.

Services include:

  • Care for general gynecological concerns
  • Annual exams
  • Emergency contraception, morning after pill
  • Screening & treatment of sexually transmitted infections
  • Rapid HIV testing & counseling; Hepatitis C testing
  • Birth control
  • Pregnancy testing & options counseling
  • Menopausal care
  • Colposcopy
  • Enrollment for free mammograms
  • Referrals to other providers

Job Description

The Clinic Manager is an integral position at the Clinic. The Clinic Manager plays a dynamic role in overseeing day-to-day clinic operations and supervising volunteers and staff, as well as implementing procedures and systems. The Clinic Manager has the opportunity to participate in planning and shaping the future of the Clinic.

Job Responsibilities include:

Clinic Management, Supervision and Training

  • Coordinate, delegate, and oversee activities associated with day-to-day clinic operations and clinic shifts, including:

- Front desk coordination

Client intake, health education, lab tracking, HIV and pregnancy testing
- Pharmacy and clinic inventory
- Ensuring smooth operation of clinic during all hours of business

Updating clinic materials in collaboration with Clinic Director and Staff Clinicians
- Supporting Clinicians and Health Workers during clinic hours

  • Schedule Clinician volunteers
  • Coordinate HIV/Hepatitis C Testing Program
  • Facilitate orientation and ongoing training and support of Health Workers in collaboration with Volunteer Director
  • Provide direct supervision for Health Workers
  • Supervise Billing Specialist
  • Recruit, train and supervise AmeriCorps members and Summer Interns

Operations

  • Provide onsite technology support for HIT applications
  • Participate in Emergency Preparedness as member of Safety Committee.
  • Facilitate, in collaboration with Office Manager, OSHA training for staff and volunteers.
  • Participate on other committees as needed/appointed (e.g. Human Resources, Cultural Competency)
  • Participate in quality improvement activities in collaboration with QI Team
  • Author and update Policies & Procedures pertaining to Clinic Operations in collaboration with other Clinical and Administrative staff

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience working in the health care environment
  • At least one year of experience in a management or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in womens health
  • Excellent computing skills
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Desired Qualifications:

  • State of California Phlebotomy Licensure as a CPT-1 or CPT-2
  • Medical Assistant certification, proficiency in IM and transdermal injections
  • State of California HIV Basic I and II certifications
  • Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred
