Kate Bell,
Development and Communications Intern
New to the staff of the Women’s Community Clinic in January of this year as a development intern, Kate Bell is delighted to start wrapping her head around the intricacies of a women’s health care clinic. Though currently taking the semester off from school, Kate is an Urban Studies major at Brown University and is considering pursuing medical school after graduation… But then again maybe it will be off to design school or the astronaut academy or maybe even the circus–anything is possible. One thing is for sure, however, with issues surrounding race and community identity formation always a central theme in her school work, the Clinic provides the perfect setting to examine the way in which these topics manifest themselves in the world of health care. Outside of her work here at the Clinic, Kate is finding out how to live life outside the classroom and in the angry, fickle weather of the Bay Area.
