Clinic receives Certificate of Honor from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors

On May 6, 2010, the Women’s Community Clinic was presented with a Certificate of Honor from District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, on behalf of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. This honor was received “..in recognition of ten years of service to the sisterhood of San Francisco; for proactive programs that empower women through health services and education; for spending the time it takes to make a difference for a woman in a health crisis and to make sure she never has to be in crisis; for asserting reproductive choice; for providing safe use of education and role-modeling care, not criminalization; for paving a path for sisters of color to become service providers to their communities; and for reaching out to women behind bars and the girls who walk the streets and the sisters who can’t make the rent and want to stay healthy while they figure their thing out; the Board of Supervisors of the City and Country of San Francisco extends it highest commendation.”
