Elisa Dolowich, AmeriCorps Member
Elisa is a Santa Cruz County native and has a B.A. in Global Studies, with minors in Women, Culture and Development and Italian Studies. At school, she focused on women’s rights and access to health care all over the world. She also spent one year studying abroad in Bologna, Italy. She now lives in Oakland, California, has worked at a homeless residence center for families and an eco-conscious cafe, and recently began volunteering at the Berkeley Free Clinic with the HIV Prevention Services section. Last summer, she and 14 other women biked from New Orleans to New York City on a tour for Reproductive Justice. Her interests for the future revolve around reproductive rights, access to quality health care, travel, and finding connections between the three. She is thrilled to gain more experience providing health services to women this year. At the Clinic, Elisa provides HIV testing and counseling.
