Jess Thacher,
Clinic Associate

Jess moved to the Bay Area in 2008 to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium. There, she worked on projects that emphasized quality improvement and the use and adoption of health information technology. The experience inspired a strong enthusiasm for San Francisco community health and Jess is thrilled to continue pursuing this passion as a new staff member at the Women’s Community Clinic. Before starting her public health career, Jess earned a B.S. in journalism, worked in Washington, DC as a communications assistant, and spent a summer as an intern on an organic produce farm. The latter adventure was motivated by a strong interest in the effect of food and agriculture policies on human and community health. When not working, Jess loves playing with her dog, cooking, dreaming up thrifty ways to redecorate her tiny apartment, and exploring San Francisco’s diverse neighborhoods.
